Views on Thai boxers? Some of them fight every couple of weeks and most Thais train from the age of about 7.

All that rolling around is no laughing matter. Not gonna lie it bores the cunt out of me too, but there's a science to it and that's part of the draw to MMA for some people. And you're mistaken if you think it's just some poncey judo bollocks. Google the Gracie family. Write these fuckers off at your peril.

I'm a casual fan of boxing (watch the odd big fight, support the odd local fight when I can etc) and trust me I respect them as much as anyone but there's nothing that makes boxers somehow divine or whatever.

Boxing is perhaps the pinnacle martial art. Doesn't make it the most effective for putting someone out though.

All sounds very impressive.
All I see is two cunts rolling around on the deck like a couple of poofs.
It's bollocks half of it this martial arts malarkey.

Boxing is different gravy

Mcgregor may seem he carrys power when them UFC guys are sprinting at him with no guard up. I can't see him punching as hard as a Canelo or Mosely. The whole thing is a circus act.

I just can't see mayweathers brittle hands knocking McGregor out.

It's obviously insanely difficult to catch floyd, but if he does I think McGregor will take his head off.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor

Bottom line is McGregor would get battered by any of the top ten ranked fighters in his weight in Ireland. Let alone by any european or higher standard professional. And fucking definitely by a world class fighter.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor
Boxers don't really clinch that early on to save energy or take a breather, and I really wouldn't see it lasting that long as the MMA guys are so outgunned in terms of boxing ability ie, the ability to land your own punches and avoid the other blokes.

As I say, I have to caveat my comments with the fact that I've seen very little MMA, but in the fight I watched below they seemed really slow in terms of hand speed for guys that size, and just very, very average all round. I don't doubt they're tough fuckers but so are most pro boxers.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor
Rules are totally different. There's no going for a clinch to get ya energy back or trading close range. Get too close and you'll open yourself up to knees/elbows and get wrapped up and/or taken down.

Also worth bearing in mind those gloves they're wearing aren't like the ones pro boxers wear. Definitely would make a difference in how much slugging goes on

Re: Mayweather v McGregor
Teach a proper boxer a little wrestling and he wins against 95% of these MMA clowns easily.

At actual boxing no MMA clown will last 15 seconds. MMA is full of cunts who aren't particularly good at anything.

I just watched this as I don't really watch MMA as a sport, but there didn't seem to be a lot of kicking grappling etc, particularly at first, just a lot of extremely average boxing.

I can't see many people being quick enough with kicks to land them on a halfway decent boxer. If what I've just watched represents top end MMA, I think there's a good chance a decent boxer would be able to win under MMA rules as well.

Re: Mayweather v McGregor
I'm sure Mayweather could take him out in the first round, although it may well last a bit longer to satisfy the paying audience around the globe, and at the flight. And then there's the possibility of the rematch. Insane this is even happening, but money talks.

OccupyGreenStreet 6:52 Sat Jul 15
Re: Mayweather v McGregor
Even standing up in MMA, Mayweather wouldn't necessarily get within punching range - any top level kickboxers/Muay Thai specialists would be able to land kicks at longer distance. Under MMA rules, McGregor would take care of business within 30 seconds.
